LAKE FOREST, CA — Jose Daniel Zuniga Castro, 25, was charged in the stabbing of his friend and his friend's mother in their Foothill Ranch townhome, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

On Tuesday, officers responded to a townhome on Rue Fontaine in Foothill Ranch. Inside they found a woman, 69, and her son, 31, both stabbed.

Zuniga Castro allegedly "got into an argument with his mother, slapped her, then left home and went to his friend's house on Rue Fontaine," Sgt. Dennis Breckner said. "He explained to his friend that he was kicked out of his house."

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries," Breckner said on Tuesday.
