Los Angeles Angels Off To Worst Start In History
The 9-22 Angels are currently tied for the worst record in the American League after another two-win week against the Giants and A's.

The beginning of this week isn’t going to help get that record up.
Before we get to this next week for the Halos, let’s talk about last
week.
They started their week off against the San Francisco Giants at Angels
Stadium before going to Oracle Park in a four-game series. The Angels
won the first game but dropped the next three but we got to see Mike
Trout fired up.
In Tuesday’s 8-2 loss, pitcher Shaun Anderson threw two pitches near
Trout’s head, in the same at-bat. Joe Maddon didn’t see anything
malicious and pointed to Anderson’s inexperience, but this wasn’t the
only time in the series that Trout saw pitches near his head.

Anderson did it again two nights later with a fastball high and in,
prompting a warning from home plate umpire Lance Barrett. Following this
one, Maddon was seen loudly cursing and complaining about it before
coming out of the dugout.
The Angels then traveled to the Oakland Coliseum to take on the A’s for
the third and final time this season. They lost the first 5-3 before
winning the next 4-3. The final game saw the Halos in their fifth ITB,
losing in the 10th inning. They are 1-4 in these ITBs and need a new
strategy if they want to start winning when they head to extras. Until
that happens, don’t expect them to win in this situation.

Following their final series against the A’s the Angels are in Houston
to take on the Astros for a four-game series. The scheduled game for
Thursday got moved to Tuesday and the Halos will play a double-header.
MLB shifted this series due to Tropical Storm Laura which is supposed to
hit the Gulf Coast late Wednesday night, early Thursday.
I see the Angels taking one or two games from the Astros but I don’t
believe they will take the series. Even with the power hitting they
have, a team is nothing without pitching, something that the Angels have
been struggling with.
After this series, the Halos come back home to face the Seattle Mariners who as of Monday Aug. 24, are a game and a half up. The Mariners are currently fourth in the AL West while the Angels sit in last.
The four-game series will finish out the month of August for both teams and I see the Angels winning the final series between the two. The Mariners have won four of their last seven, one of which came against the Dodgers. They are on a hot streak but will quickly end as they face the Padres first. That losing momentum will carry into the series at Angels Stadium.
