IRVINE, CA —Taco Bell is making more changes based upon its 2020 initiatives, and one of the side effects is the loss of the Mexican Pizza.

On November 5, the fast-food giant will remove the pizza from their menu to make good on their eco-friendly promises. Removing the Mexican Pizza will drastically reduce paper waste, the chain says.

The flaky crusted, cheese, beef, and bean concoction is a long-family favorite here and will be missed. The reason the chain has cited is primarily due to packaging concerns.

"It's like Taco Bell went 'people are already miserable this year. May as well pile it on." RIP #MexicanPizza #TacoBell, says Kayla Braxton, WWE.

Then, a Change.org petition sprouted up, begging the chain to leave the pizza be.

Over 20,000 have signed that petition as of this report.
"Losing this item would not only be the loss of one of our favorite foods but a piece of our childhood and heritage as Indian Americans," organizers wrote.

They suggested buying as many Mexican Pizzas as possible before the Nov. 5 date.

It turns out fans love their taco bell menu item.

No one has experienced such uproar about other disappearing foods. There are no laments for a 7-layer Burrito, Nachos Supreme or Quesarito. Other changes at the Bell? Pico De Gallo is gone, replaced with diced tomatoes. Shredded chicken items are also gone this fall, including the burrito and the chicken quesadilla melt.

The chain says they are striving to streamline their menu during the pandemic.

They will add a Chicken Chipotle Melt and Dragonfruit Freeze tropical iced drink to the menu in its place.

"With these changes, we look forward to providing our guests with a more seamless Taco Bell restaurant experience, and even more exciting new innovations to come," a spokesperson for Taco Bell says.
