IRVINE, CA — A 79-year-old man with dementia who walked away from his home, Monday was found midday Tuesday in the city of Orange, police say.

Eric Hill went missing at 6 p.m. near Ridge Valley and Irvine Boulevard, police said.

"Mr. Hill was located in the City of Orange," Irvine Police announced over Twitter. "Officers are with him and he is in good condition."

Officials thanked residents for searching for Mr. Hill and ultimately reporting his whereabouts.
