LAKE FOREST, CA — It is the final weekend to come and see the delightful production "A Series of Unscrpited Events," held at the Modjeska Playhouse. Closing night is June 29 at 8 p.m., organizers said.

Come and witness improvisation in its finest form. Every performance is different, with "unforgettable nights of Improv theater," according to the playhouse.

Directed by Lauren Baumbauer and Christopher Sullivan, performances continue until June 29, held Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m.

Most stories begin “Once upon a time…,” but not this one.

That would be far too easy and far too sensible. These 15 completely improvised plays inspired by Lemony Snicket and other authors of the fantastical and gothic absurdist variety tell much more unfortunate and much more hilarious tales.

With a Charles Dickens meets Roald Dahl style and set in a time both long ago and not too far in the past, perfectly “vintage,” the cast will create a play that leads its viewers down a sometimes dark, sometimes mysterious, but always funny journey.

On any given night, the show may be filled with secret societies, scavenger hunts that our heroes must solve, orphans in peril, or whatever else the cast comes up with. No matter the journey, we’re certain that it will be a fun adventure for the whole family.
