Motorcyclist Seriously Injured on I-5 at Lake Forest Drive

A motorcyclist was seriously injured today in a collision with a van on the northbound San Diego (5) Freeway in Lake Forest, authorities said.

The crash was reported about 2 a.m. at Lake Forest Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The injured man, who is in his 30s, was taken to a hospital in serious condition, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the Orange County Fire Authority.

The northbound lanes were closed while an investigation was conducted. The lanes were reopened about 3:45 a.m., a CHP dispatcher said.
