In Household Income Survey, Lake Forest is 14th

What's in your wallet? If you live in Lake Forest, apparently more loot than most, according to a new study.

Using census data from 562 large cities nationwide, a financial website called NerdWallet found that Lake Forest was one of just 16 towns where more than half of all households earn at least $100,000 a year.

The only other Southern California city to make the cut was Yorba Linda. (Villa Park was conspicuously absent, but a NerdWallet spokeswoman said the town's population was too small to be included in the study.)

Lake Forest ranked 14th on NerdWallet's list.

“The Los Angeles metro area features two cities on our list, second most of any metro,” said Divya Raghavan, a NerdWallet analyst.

Topping the list was San Ramon, a San Francisco suburb, with 63.5 percent of households raking in more than 100,000 clams a year. Yorba Linda was fourth, with 58.8 percent in the 100K Club.
