Vehicles Flip On I-5 Near I-405, Prompt Sig-Alert

LAKE FOREST, CA — Drivers heading northbound on Interstate 5 near Lake Forest were a bit worse for wear Monday following a traffic collision just south of the 405/5 split. Traffic was backed up to the La Paz Road exit in Mission Viejo. Drivers were told to seek alternate routes for about an hour during the cleanup.

The incident began just before 9 a.m. when two vehicles collided for unknown reasons. During the collision, both cars were flipped upside down in the lanes, California Highway Patrol officer Florentino Olivera reported.

Lanes were expected to reopen sometime after 10:45 a.m. Additional details were not available.
