SIGALERT: 5 Freeway Reopens Following Pileup
The crash shut down the #1, #2, and #3 lanes of the northbound side of the freeway just south of El Toro Road.
LAKE FOREST, CA — Six cars, including one big rig, were involved in a pair of pileups on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Lake Forest on Wednesday morning.
According to California Highway Patrol, a crash involving several cars happened at 9:47 a.m., shutting down the #1,#2, and #3 lanes of the Northbound side of the freeway just south of El Toro road. A few people were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The first crash was quickly followed by a second one involving a big rig, according to the CHP.

CHP reports the Sig Alert was cleared at 10:53 a.m., and that traffic has resumed to normal.
