Summer Camps For Girl Scouts: Lake Forest

LAKE FOREST, CA — What summer camps would be ideal for your girl scout? Check out these activities close to you in Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Aliso Niguel, Laguna Niguel, Rancho Trabuco, Irvine, Westminster, Huntington Beach and more.

In Lake Forest, your girl scout can enjoy "Girls in the Galaxy" from July 10-14 at Lakeview Park.

Camp Scherman, an overnight explore camp in San Bernardino mountains, is ideal for Girl Scouts looking to develop their outdoor skills. At Camp Scherman, all campers will have an opportunity to swim in the pool and participate in traditional camp activities over the course of their session.

"For over 40 years, parents continue to send their girls to Camp Scherman, knowing that their daughters will have a great outdoor experience. It's just a couple of hours away from Orange County, and with 700 acres of trails, lakes and wildlife nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains, it's an experience like no other," the Girl Scouts of Orange County website said. "At summer camp, girls and staff sleep in cabins with bunk beds that sleep 6-8, unless the session indicates "primitive" camping or Ranch House Cabins (fully-equipped restrooms are just a short walk away!). Ranch House cabins are larger with bunk beds that sleep 12-24, with heat, electricity, and restrooms inside. Facilities include a beautiful swimming pool, large dining hall/recreation area, health building, and bathroom buildings."

Transportation to and from summer camp is provided by a charter bus company with experienced mountain drivers. All campers will receive a special edition Camp Scherman patch and come home with a 2017 Camp Scherman t-shirt.

Financial aid "camperships" are awarded to campers on the basis of financial need only and are available for resident camps.
