BMW Driver Killed in Fiery I-8 Crash Identified

The 34-year-old man died in a crash early Sunday on eastbound Interstate 8 near College Avenue.

SAN DIEGO, CA: Authorities have publicly identified a driver killed in a fiery three-vehicle crash on Interstate 8 over the weekend.

Ulises Plascencia-Roque, 34, was behind the wheel of a BMW sedan that crashed into the center divider, overturned and caught fire in the eastbound lanes approaching College Avenue early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol and the county Medical Examiner's Office.

Plascencia-Roque's BMW was then hit by two pickup trucks.

"At some point, the decedent was ejected and possibly struck by one or more vehicles," according to a statement from the Medical Examiner's Office.

Plascencia-Roque died at the scene, authorities said.
