Businesswoman, Pilot Freda Breise Dies at 104

Freda Breise and her husband Frederic Breise enjoyed spending time in the clouds, teaching people how to fly. Together with family, Freda and Frederic ran a rental property, flight school and restaurant.

Freda passed away Aug. 13 at her home in La Mesa. She was 104.

Freda was a member of the Ninety-Nines, an international group of women pilots and an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in La Mesa. A celebration of Freda's life was held at the church Monday.

She is survived by her three children, nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

"She was the most unselfish person I have ever known," said her son, Vance in an obituary published in U-T San Diego.
