East County Chamber Presents `East County Honors’ Awards

The San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce swore in its 30-member board of directors, including Cameron Stewart, Pure Light Cleaning Specialists, as 2019 chairman of the board, and presented awards at its 107th Annual Dinner, held Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in El Cajon. More than 200 people attended the “East County Honors” event.

Recipients of the Chamber’s Business of the Year awards were selected by the public who voted online over a three-week period in January (January 4-to-25). Recipients included: Civility Partners, Best New Member Business Award; RCP Block & Brick, Inc., Environmental Stewardship Award; The Trails Eatery, Best Restaurant Award; Security First, Professional Services Industry Award; Point Loma Credit Union, Financial Services Industry Award; Seamless Rain Gutters, Inc., Manufacturing Industry Award; Home of Guiding Hands, Health Services Industry Award; Jasmine Creek Florist, Retail, Sales and Marketing Industry Award; Literacy First Charter Schools, Education Industry Award; Pure Light Cleaning Specialists, Home and Business Improvement Industry Award; Sycuan Casino, Entertainment and Recreation Industry Award; Young Life East County, Nonprofit Business Award.

The Chamber also presented community service awards. A Chamber committee selected winners of community service awards. Recipients of community service awards, included: Vincent Ortiz, VO Marketing, Ambassador of the Year; Ute Maschkte, East Region Adult Education Consortium, Leadership East County Award; Steve Goble, El Cajon City Council, Public Service Person of the Year Award; Dave Steele, Pure Solar Power, Community Partner of the Year Award; Bryan Shull, Silvergate Bank, Business Volunteer of the Year Award; James Sly, East County Economic Development Council, Business and Education Person of the Year Award.

The 600-member San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, based in El Cajon, is one of the largest business membership and advocacy groups in the region. Its members reside and work throughout San Diego city and county.
