Elderly Man Leaves Car in Reverse, Flips and Hits Tree

The motorist thought he had the car in drive. He was unhurt, according to reports.

A car turned over down an embankment on Lake Murray Boulevard at Baltimore Drive Thursday, shaking up the driver, according to multiple reports.

The car settled against a tree and teams of rescuers aided the driver, according to NBC San Diego.

The driver, an elderly man, was taken to the hospital as a precaution after the 9 a.m. wreck, reported 10News.com. He told authorities he thought he had the car in drive, but it was in reverse.

The 10News report said the car landed in the parking lot of a home for seniors.
