Purse Snatching at Gunpoint; Armed Suspect at Large

Two suspects allegedly involved in an armed robbery on Normal Avenue Wednesday evaded police officers and a helicopter, according to the La Mesa Police Department.

Police received a 911 call around 7 p.m. Wednesday from a woman who said she had her purse stolen at gunpoint in the 7600 block of Normal Ave.

A perimeter was established with help from a San Diego Police Department helicopter but suspects were able to evade arrest.

The suspects are described as: 

Suspect #1: Black male adult, 5’9”, 180 pounds, late teens or early 20’s, black ski mask, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. 

Suspect #2: Black male adult, 5’9”, 170 pounds, late teens or early 20’s, short braided hair, black ski mask, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
