RE/MAX Clarity Welcomes Chula Vista Agent Jeff Bettger

RE/MAX Clarity, one of South County’s fastest-growing real estate sales offices, is proud to announce the addition of long-term Chula Vista real estate agent Jeff Bettger to its growing roster of real estate sales professionals.

The announcement was made by Peter W. Carlseen, principal, RE/MAX Clarity.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff to RE/MAX Clarity,” said Carlseen. “His 20 years of sales experience, his background in property management, as well as his prior career in research, are a huge plus for his clients.”

A native of Sterling, Col., Bettger spent his early career in academia. After earning a bachelors degree, masters degree and a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, he conducted post-doctoral research at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla. His research focused on the acquisition and brain localization of American Sign Language. He then spent four years as an Associate Professor in the Joint Doctoral Program in Atypical Language Development at San Francisco State University and UC Berkeley.

In 2000, with the upcoming birth of his son, he moved back to Chula Vista and began a real estate career with his family. Bettger said, “I had accomplished my goals in academics and wanted a new challenge.”

Within a few years, Bettger had built an award-winning sales team, receiving numerous national sales awards. In 2008, he founded his own sales brokerage and property management companies.

Now, after selling the property management business, Bettger has joined RE/MAX Clarity in Eastlake to focus on real estate sales again. “I have known the owners and agents at RE/MAX Clarity for many years. I feel very comfortable working in the positive environment they have created and the excellent support they provide,” explained Bettger.

“My passion is helping my clients. Buying or selling a home is a life-changing transaction,” said Bettger. “I’m very familiar with the neighborhoods in the Chula Vista communities. My two children grew up in these schools and I watched all of the homes in eastern Chula Vista being built from the ground up. With 20 years of real estate experience and 10 years of property management experience, my clients can count on getting expert advice, whether they want to buy, sell or invest in residential real estate.”

Bettger has also been a passionate volunteer in the community. He has given his time and talents to the Chula Vista Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Southwest Association of REALTORS®, Sharp Hospital Community Advisory Board, military family support groups and local youth sports organizations.

He recently donated 50 pounds of ham to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. The Ronald McDonald House is a 56-guest suite lodge and day-use center in Serra Mesa that has served for the past 40 years as a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill or injured children being treated at San Diego hospitals.

Bettger explained, “RE/MAX Clarity has adopted the Ronald McDonald House as a special charity. Our agents have donated food and time preparing and serving meals to the families. It’s a wonderful feeling helping these families feel a little more at ease during their stressful time.”

On a monthly basis, Bettger produces a video called “The Chula Vista Real Estate Market Update.” These short videos show his analysis of the ever-changing real estate prices and trends.
