Woman Who Was Fatally Shot In Spring Valley Identified
The woman was seated in a parked vehicle when someone shot her, authorities said.
SPRING VALLEY, CA — Authorities have publicly identified a woman who was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant in Spring Valley.
Karmen Anderson, 40, of San Diego was seated in a parked vehicle in the 3600 block of Bancroft Drive when someone shot her around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
"Another person had driven the woman to a local area hospital where she was being treated for gunshot wounds," officials said in a news release. "Unfortunately, the woman's condition declined."

Anderson, who sometimes went by the last name Hicks, was pronounced dead Monday morning, authorities said.
