Assisteens Auxiliary of Diablo Valley Recruits New Members

Established in 1977, Assisteens® Auxiliary is a nonprofit, volunteer organization comprised of 60 teenagers in grades 7 through 12 who are interested in learning the value of volunteering while developing leadership and organizational skills. Under the guidelines of Assistance League and Assistance League Diablo Valley, these energetic gamechangers select their own philanthropic programs and raise the funds necessary to implement them, while supporting many of the chapter’s programs and its thrift shop.

Membership is now open for the 2021-2022 school year until September 30. If you enjoy organizing and hosting holiday parties for elementary schoolchildren, writing and sending cards to homebound seniors, shopping for clothing for homeless youth, or participating in a fashion show, just to name a few, you will “make a difference” as an Assisteen. · The annual membership campaign for 2021/2022 is closed after September 30.

· Parents are required to attend an information meeting.

· Members are required to dedicate 35 hours of community service on Assisteens activities annually.

· Meetings are held the second Tuesday evening of each month, except July and August.

· Dues are $35 per year, plus $15 T-shirt fee.
