Lamorinda Prepares To Vote: California Election
The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. If you still have your mail-in ballot, you may drop it off at any vote center.

LAMORINDA, CA — While the majority of Lamorinda voters have already cast their mail-in ballots and returned them, some will venture out to vote centers on Tuesday to either mark their ballots or hand them in for counting.
In both Lafayette and Moraga, voters are selecting three city councilmembers, and school board members. A number of special districts also have races. In Orinda, voters are selecting two city councilmembers, and school board members. In addition to voting on special districts, Orinda residents are also deciding on a tax hike. Measure R would raise the citywide sales tax from one-half cent to a full one cent.
There is also a county tax measure up for a vote: X would increase the countywide sales tax by one-half cent.

Contra Costa County voters are weighing in on races for the statehouse and U.S. Congress.
In the 5th Congressional District, Incumbent Mike Thompson is facing Scott Giblin. In the 9th Congressional District, Tony Amador is facing Jerry McNerney. In the 11th Congressional District, Incumbent Mark DeSaulnier is facing Nisha Sharma. In the 15th Congressional District, incumbent Eric Swalwell is facing Alison Hayden.
In the 3rd State Senate District, Bill Dodd is facing Carlos Santamaria. In the 7th State Senate District, Steve Glazer is being challenged by Julie Mobley. In the 9th State Senate District, Nancy Skinner is being challenged by Jamie Dluzak.
In the 11th State Assembly District, Jim Frazier is facing Debra Schwab. In the 14th State Assembly District, Tim Grayson is facing Janelle Elizabeth Proctor. In the 15th State Assembly District, Buffy Wicks is being challenged by Sara Brink. In the 16th State Assembly District, Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is being challenged by Joseph Rubay.
Contra Costa County has 675,518 registered voters, according to statistics from Secretary of State Alex Padilla's office. Statewide, there are 21.2 million registered voters, an increase of 800,000 since the primary in March.
