Canyon Road Bridge Closure Planned
The closure will protect workers and the public during a "mass concrete pour."

LAMORINDA, CA — If you're getting anxious for the new Canyon Road Bridge to open, there's good news from the town of Moraga.
The project has advanced to the point where a "mass concrete pour" is planned for Friday. In all, 300 yards of concrete will go into the stem, soffit, and abutment.
To keep everyone safe, the workers and community alike, the bridge will be closed at 3:30 a.m.

It is expected to reopen no later than 3 p.m. according to the contractor, Bridgeway Civil Constructors, "Because of the huge amount of concrete required, there will be two pumps running, and concrete delivery will occur every six minutes. Residents should expect noise generation and traffic impact during construction. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This is the only early morning bridge closure currently scheduled to occur this calendar year."
