A man who was shot and killed at a Concord residence last Saturday night has been identified, police said today.
The victim was identified as Erick Cruz, a 20-year-old resident of Concord, according to Concord police spokesman Lt. David Hughes.
Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene, in the courtyard of an apartment in the 1100 block of Meadow Lane, after police responded to the residence at 9:29 p.m., according to Concord police.

Cruz’s cause of death is still pending an official determination by the Contra Costa County coroner’s office, but appears to be a traumatic injury from a gunshot wound, Hughes said.
According to Hughes, police currently do not have any suspect information available and are continuing to investigate potential motives and details leading up to the incident.
