LAMORINDA, CA — Firefighters from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District plan a controlled burn between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.

They are continuing to work on a wildfire mitigation project in the community open space area above Dalewood Drive, Yarrow Valley Lane, and Moss Bridge Lane.

Fire Crews will burn more than a dozen piles of cut and stacked material each day.

A small amount of material may smoke and smolder overnight, the fire district reports, but the piles are surrounded by moist, green grass that should not allow the fire to move away from the pile.

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has been informed of the prescribed burn.
