LAMORINDA, CA — Multiple agencies plan to participate in a controlled burn on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Firefighters from the Moraga-Orinda Fire District, the East Bay Municipal Utility District, and CAL Fire plan a small prescribed fire along Pinehurst Road near the Canyon Y.

This project is a continuation of the work that has been done on the Pinehurst Canyon Shaded Fuel Break.

"If burning conditions change, the project will be rescheduled," the Moraga Police Department said in a statement. "Residents in the community of Canyon and those driving in the area may see or smell smoke. Closing exterior doors and windows during the day will help to keep smoke from entering homes."

If you have questions or concerns about the prescribed burn, call the Moraga-Orinda Fire District at 925-258-4599.
