Moraga police log, July 27-29.

Saturday, July 27, 2013
On the 100 block of Fairfield Dr., a resident reported that an older man came to the door for the second time in two weeks, asking for a former resident of the home. When he was, for the second time in two weeks, advised that the person no longer lived there, he was “persistent” about being hired to trim the trees. Police advised the resident to call them if the would-be tree trimmer came back a third time, which in his case would probably not be a charm.
A hiker who was walking the hills above Rheem Blvd. advised police that she stumbled on a homeless encampment. Because of the dense, dry grass, police did a search for the camp in case the “campers” were using fire to cook. After an extensive search, police said it was clear the trails had been recently used, but they could not find an encampment.

Shortly after midnight, police were called to Los Perales Elementary School where they saw five people on the roof. Spotting the police, they ran, with the exception of one young man, who turned out to be 18. Police found a case of beer, but the young man tested clean for alcohol. The other drinkers were nowhere to be found. Police disposed of the beer and let the young man go.

We’ll leave out the address of this one, but a man walked into the police department and reported that, five hours earlier, his wife hit him in the head while he was sleeping on the couch. He was not injured, and could not explain why he waited so long to report the assault. I’ll bet I’m not the only one who wants to hear the wife’s side of this tale.
An 89-year-old man reported that someone tried to change the information on his Bank of America checking account and Mastercard. The bank cancelled the changes before any money could be extracted.
A resident of Ascot Dr. reported that someone threw an egg at her car, she believed in retaliation for making a noise complaint.
Five to six teenagers were found drinking alcohol on Bollinger Canyon Rd. Police cited two teens for underage drinking and released them on a promise to appear in court. The others were let go.
