Gunshot Victim Seeks Help in Orinda Safeway

The man is refusing to cooperate with police.

A man who walked into a Safeway in Orinda suffering from gunshot wounds Wednesday night may have been shot during a highway gunfight in Richmond, according to police.

The man, who has a criminal history, sought help at the Safeway at 2 Camino Sobrante around 8:15 p.m., according to the Contra Costa Times. The man is expected to recover and is not cooperating with police about how he came to be shot and why he drove himself to Orinda.
