Heat Advisory Issued For Bay Area, Central Coast

Prepare for temperatures in the 90s and 100s. (See map of impacted area)

CALIFORNIA — Get ready for a scorcher!

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Tuesday and Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., for most of the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas. Temps are expected to be anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees above normal — as hot as the 90s on the coast and 100s inland.

The NWS cautions, "Sensitive populations such as the elderly, infants, and those without access to air conditioning will likely be susceptible to heat related illnesses. Take precautions to protect yourself and others around you from the heat."

  • North Bay Mountains and Valleys
  • East Bay Valleys
  • Santa Clara Valley including San Jose
  • City of San Francisco
  • San Francisco Bay Shoreline
  • Santa Cruz Mountains
  • Northern Monterey Bay, Southern Monterey Bay and the Big Sur Coast
  • Northern/Southern Salinas Valley
  • Carmel Valley
