Oh say, can you See's? Or how about "See's the moment?"Â
Puns aside, See's Candy is coming to Lafayette. On June 21, the iconic candy store will open in the Lafayette Shopping Center. The full-scale store will feature the black and white decor (which is used to emulate Mary See's original kitchen), and a full array of candy, from peanut brittle to truffles to chocolate turtles and all points in between.
Of course, just for stopping by, each customer gets a free sample of candy. See's officials say they give away 1 million pounds of candy every year.Â
The candy is also gluten-free, though it's probably not gluten that has people concerned about the effects of too much candy.Â
Those attending the opening day will get free lollypops and hats for the kids, and a prize wheel to spin. There will also be historical cars on hand (hopefully they can find a place nearby to park).Â
If your sweet tooth has a calendar app, set it for June 21 in the Lafayette Shopping Center (near Peet's Coffee and Tea). After all, if no one else is buying you candy, you may as well buy it for yourself.Â
