Impressionists Come to Lafayette Library Wednesday
A special exhibit timed to coincide with the America's Cup.

A collection of paintings featuring water themes are on display at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. Wednesday will feature a docent-led lecture on the works.Â
"The docent will describe how the Impressionists successfully captured the transitory moment - sharing highlights of the more than 80 paintings that make up the exhibit, including Monet, Pissarro, Renoir and Seurat," according to the library web site. "These artists captured the effect of sparkling water and moist light to reflect on pleasure boating and competition."
The event takes place Wednesday, July 31 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Community Hall, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd. It's $5 per person, and reservations can be made by calling (925) 283-6513, extension 103.Â
