Investigation Continues Into Deadly Orinda Crash
The fiery crash on Aug. 1 claimed the life of 20-year-old Cassidie Abello of Danville.

LAMORINDA, CA — The California Highway Patrol has not yet completed its investigation into a deadly crash that happened on Highway 24 in Orinda on Aug. 1, a CHP spokeswoman told Patch on Monday.
Cassidie Abello, 20, of Danville, died in a fiery crash around 9 p.m. Her vehicle smashed into a tree on the westbound side of the road.

Abello's cause of death is still pending, according to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Coroner's Division.
A Go Fund Me account was set up for Abello's family. It has a modest goal of just $3,000, but has raised close to $10,000. People commenting on the site remember the young woman as a soccer player and "a beautiful soul."
