Mountain Lion Spotted in Lafayette
Police are increasing patrols in the area where the cougar was reported.

LAMORINDA, CA — Lafayette Police reported just before 11 p.m. Wednesday that a mountain lion was reported in the 3300 Block of Woodside Drive, near Hidden Valley.
LPD recommended that residents keep an eye on their pets to ensure they are safe.
If you encounter a mountain lion, LPD offers these tips:

- remember they do not want contact with humans
- remain calm and slowly move away (running may encourage an attack)
- NEVER approach a mountain lion
- stand tall and never crouch down
If you spot a mountain lion, call the dispatch center at (925) 284-5010 or through 911.
LPD Officers will be increasing their patrols in the area.
