Music Lamorinda Style: Cool Summer Sounds on Cool Summer Nights
Free summer concerts in the park continue this week with blues, rock, and psychedelia.

Most folks who don't live in "sunny" California seem to think that our state is just one big Los Angeles. But we know better--when we take in an outdoor concert or theater production, it's rare to find someone without at least two layers of clothes.Â
But it's that natural air conditioning that makes Lamorinda literally and figuratively so cool. And thanks to so many locals who are music fans, and a local population full of eager musicians, there is no lack of live music around here.Â
Case in point: this week features two outdoor shows. First up, on Tuesday, Aug. 6, it's rock and blues with The Crisis, a long-time East Bay favorite, performing live at the Concerts in the Park series in Orinda, 28 Orinda Way, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The show is free.Â
On Thursday, Aug. 8, the Summer Concert Series at Moraga Commons Park features old-school San Francisco psychedelic band Moonalice, with some legendary musicians from the 1960s, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This show is also free. Like music should be, man.
Be cool. And don't forget to dress warm.Â
