Natalie Coughlin Eyes Rio Gold in 2016

The Olympian and Lafayette resident spoke about her past and future career at a Tibetan community center in Richmond this week.

Natalie Coughlin paused from her training regimen Wednesday night to inspire members of the Tibetan Community Center of Northern California with tales from her life as an Olympic swimmer.

Coughlin, who is 30 and lives in Lafayette, is currently training for the 2014 World Championships in Doha, Qatar, according to the Contra Costa Times. Coughlin has competed in three Olympic Games and has 12 medals. While she acknowledges that she is reaching the last phase of her record-breaking career, she still wants to compete in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
