The Orinda Library Gallery is pleased to feature the "Flight" the work of Barbara Brady-Smith, photographer; "Intercepting Light", work of Wenda Pyman, photographer; and Moose Wesler, printmaker from March 29 through the month of April. The public is invited to meet the artists and join them for an Opening Reception on Sunday, April 7, from 2:30 to 4:30pm in the Orinda Library Gallery at 26 Orinda Way, Orinda.

Wenda Pyman’s body of work reflects her all-consuming passion to capture nature’s diverse patterns and imagery, both locally and worldwide. It's not just about a perfect location or composition, but finding harmony and balance between elements of color, lines, texture and shapes that are both pleasing to her and the viewer.

Wenda Pyman has been a Moraga Art Gallery member since 2003. Her work has been published in newspapers, calendars, and CD album covers. Her images have been collected both internationally and nationally. When she is not traveling, she roams the East Bay hills, Mount Diablo & beyond.

Lafayette Resident, Barbara Brady-Smith, will display 20 photographs at the Orinda Library Gallery in the month of April. Based on the theme she calls “Flight,” the selection of imagery depicts stunning birds in flight either in their natural habitat or photographed in Barbara’s studio in Lafayette. Featured birds include macaws, amazon parrots, pelicans, egrets and more. Photographing birds flying in her studio has been incredibly fun and challenging for Barbara and the imagery captured is truly one of a kind!

Barbara is an internationally recognized pet photographer and the owner of Share the Joy Photography (www.sharethejoyphotography.com). She primarily photographs beloved family pets, horses, and birds in her studio or at various locations around the Bay Area. Photographing birds in flight is a personal project she launched in 2017 and the works will be published as a coffee table book when completed. She has received numerous awards for her work including four-time Professional Photographers of America Photographer of the Year as well as Professional Photographers of California Animal Photographer of the Year and Environmental Photographer of the Year.

Moose Wesler is an artist and educator in the Bay Area. She received an MFA in printmaking from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and have studied in Florence, Italy, and London. "Drawing is extremely important to me and is my way of making connections with the world." Most of her prints are based on sketchbook drawings; She's been carrying a sketchbook with her since college. Her interests are architectural: interiors and exteriors of buildings; and musical: "I love drawing musicians and their relationships to their instruments. These gesture drawings are the inspiration for the large linocut prints in which I capture the actions and energy of the musicians."
