Orinda Police Log: Grand Thefts, Reckless Drivers, Loud Parties

Some of the incidents that kept Orinda police officers busy this past week

Some of the items on the Orinda Police Department logs from Jan. 19 to Jan. 25.

Sunday, Jan. 19

DUI arrest: A motorist was arrested at 2:21 a.m. for driving under the influence at the Wilder Road exit on Highway 24.

Reckless driver: Police were notified at 4:29 p.m. that a reckless driver was seen at Camino Pablo and Manzanita Drive. Officers were unable to locate the motorist.

Monday, Jan. 20

Identity theft: A resident informed police at 1:54 p.m. that an identity theft had occurred. The resident came into the police department to report the incident.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

Grand theft: Officers were notified at 12:17 p.m. that a grand theft had occurred in the 20 block of Orinda Way.

Another grand theft: Police were notified at 12:23 p.m. that another grand theft had happened in the 10 block of Via Corte.

Wednesday, Jan. 22

Reckless driver: Officers were informed at 4:59 p.m. that a reckless driver was seen at San Pablo Creek and Camino Pablo. Police were unable to locate the motorist.

Thursday, Jan. 23

Loud party: Officers were dispatched at 11:11 p.m. for a report of a loud party in the 80 block of La Espiral. The people responsible were contacted.

Friday, Jan. 24

Battery: Police were informed at 1:15 p.m. that a battery had occurred in the 20 block of Orinda Way. Those responsible were contacted.

Loud party: Officers were dispatched at 10:08 p.m. for a report of a loud party in the 20 block of Lavina Court. The people responsible were contacted.

Saturday, Jan. 25

Panhandling: Police were notified at 8:24 p.m. of a panhandling incident outside the Orinda Theatre. Officers were unable to locate the individual.
