Report: Moraga, Orinda Among Safest Places to Live in California
A new study ranks Moraga and Orinda among the top 10 safest towns in California based on crime statistics and other data.

Lamorinda - With snowy mountains, luscious forests, beautiful beaches, farmlands and metropolitan cities, there is no question why 39 million people call California home.
Looking to move somewhere within this Golden State and wondering where the safest towns are? A recent study by BackgroundCheck.org put several Bay Area towns on Top-50 Safest Cities in California.

“We’ve ranked the safest towns in the state based on FBI violent crime stats and proprietary research data,” the study reports.
“While California may be home to eight of the nation’s 50 most populated cities, you may be better off looking at one of these locations to call home.”

Way to Go Moraga and Orinda, you ranked #'s 7 and 9 for Best Town in California!
Moraga is very safe according to the study, with a violent crime rate of 36.6 and less than a 1% chance of property crime for residents.
In Orinda, the violent crime rate is just 38.7 and, the report says, you’ll have just a 1.1% of being involved in a property crime.
