Serial Burglars Arrested Following Lamorinda Crime Spree
Investigators used surveillance footage to identify the pair who police say committed crimes in at least four counties.

LAMORINDA, CA — A pair of prolific burglars who police say committed crimes in Lafayette, Orinda, Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Benicia, Sacramento, and Butte County has been arrested, according to Lafayette Police Chief Ben Alldritt.
Alldritt said the pair, whose names have not been released, committed at least nine burglaries, five attempted burglaries, and three bicycle thefts in Lafayette in mid-February. He said they also stole multiple credit cards and made fraudulent purchases on the cards.
Investigators identified the man and woman by checking surveillance footage.

"With the assistance of a local Law Enforcement agency, the female was detained on February 25th," Alldritt said in a message to the community, "but the male slipped through the hands of authorities once again. On Saturday March 6th, the luck ran out for the outstanding male suspect and he was apprehended in Sacramento during a burglary in progress."
The pair used a crowbar to break into businesses after hours, according to Alldritt. "I personally want to thank our business owners that had security cameras and were able to provide valuable footage of the crimes."
