Update: Supreme Court Rules DOMA Unconstitutional, Throws Out Prop. 8 Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court handed down two key rulings today today (June 26) on gay marriage, refusing to rule on California's Prop. 8, which banned same sex marriage in California, and striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, which denies same sex couples scores of federal benefits, even if they are married in a state which permits same sex marriage.
