Some of the meetings and events happening in the Lamorinda area this week

On Monday evening, the Moraga Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Moraga Library, 1500 St. Mary's Road.

On the agenda is approval of the St. Mary's College parking management plan.

Also on Tuesday morning, a computer training session for senior citizens will be held.

The "Senior Lunch N' Learn: iPad" seminar begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Hacienda de las Flores, 2100 Donald Drive, in Moraga.

The event is sponsored by the Lafayette Senior Services.

On Tuesday afternoon, a traveling reptile show will visit the area.

The presentation begins at 4 p.m. at the Moraga Library, 1500 St. Mary's Road.

East Bay Vivarium will showcase 20 to 30 creatures during the hour-long show.

On Tuesday evening, the Orinda City Council will hold its regular meeting.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at the Orinda Library, 22 Orinda Way.

On the agenda is the adoption of the 2007-2014 Housing Element Update.

Also on Tuesday evening, educators will host a forum on stress and anxiety on children and how parents can help alleviate the problem.

The session begins at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Stanley Middle School, 3455 School St., Lafayette.

Stanley Principal Schrag and the counseling staff will oversee the forum.

On Wednesday evening, a forum on the capital punishment will be held.

"Voices For Life: Perspectives on the Death Penalty" begins at 6 p.m. at the Soda Activity Center at St. Mary's College in Moraga.

The panel was put together by SMC Amnesty International.

Also on Wednesday evening, a former professional football player and author will discuss his latest book and how he made his life dreams come true.

The talk by Tim Green begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Library and Learning Center, 3491 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette.

Also on Wednesday evening, the Acalanes Union High School board of education will hold its regular meeting.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the district offices, 1212 Pleasant Hill Road, Lafayette.

On Thursday evening, the annual State of the Town address will be held in Moraga.

The event begins at 6 p.m. at the Moraga Country Club, 1600 St. Andrews Drive.

Mayor David Trotter will discuss the state of the town. City volunteers will also be honored.

Also on Thursday evening, screen and stage star Rita Moreno will discuss her life and career.

The forum begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Lafayette Veterans Memorial Building, 3780 Mt. Diablo Blvd.

Diablo magazine senior editor Peter Crooks will host the discussion.

Also on Thursday evening, the St. Mary's College Jazz Band will perform.

The entertainment begins at 8 p.m. at the Moraga college.

On Friday afternoon, students' talents will be on display.

The "Fall Follies" begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Culture Center, 1700 School St.  in Moraga.

Students from the Saklan School in Moraga will be performing.
