Corte Madera Spending More Than Anticipated
City officials were off by about $1 million in expenditures estimates at the mid-year budget review.

The Town of Corte Madera has spent about $1 million more than city officials anticipated, according to a mid-year budget review.Â
The Marin Independent Journal reports that in June 2012, city officials anticipated the Town of Corte Madera's expenditures to be at $20.1 million by mid-year and revenue at $19.9 million. However, both are higher than expected.Â
A mid-year estimate for expenditures is at $21.5 million and revenue at $20.6 million, according to the Journal.Â

The reason? City officials told the Journal that it was because of a few things: fixing the roof of the fire department and emergency equipment.
Property taxes are also down by $57,000.Â
