Corte Madera Woman Hit By Pickup

Cyclist, 68, is taken to the hospital after a collision in downtown Sonoma.

 

A bicyclist was struck and injured by a pickup truck in downtown Sonoma on Saturday morning, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office reported.

The bicyclist, a 68-year-old woman from Corte Madera, was struck shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday at First Street East and East Spain Street, Sgt. Spencer Crum said. The driver, a 41-year-old Sonoma man, was driving west through the intersection when the collision occurred.

The victim was taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa with a non-life threatening head injury. She was saved from more serious injury by her helmet, Crum noted.

The collision remains under investigation.
