Crews Contain Brush Fire Along Highway 101 In Corte Madera
The blaze broke out amid red flag weather conditions and public safety power shutoffs in Marin County.
CORTE MADERA, CA — Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire early Thursday morning in Corte Madera.
The blaze was reported around 4:20 a.m. on the shoulder of southbound Highway 101 between Paradise Drive and East Blithedale, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.
Firefighters from Central Marin and Kentfield Fire kept the fire from spreading across Casa Buena Drive.

The California Highway Patrol shut down the right two lanes of the southbound side of the freeway while crews were at the scene. Casa Buena Drive was also closed between Conow Street and Meadow Valley.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Central Marin and Kentfield Fire quickly contained an early morning vegetation fire along Hwy 101 in Corte Madera this a.m. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading across Casa Buena Drive. The cause is under investigation. No action is necessary by local residents.
