The DUI and driver's license checkpoint will take place Friday.

CORTE MADERA, CA — The Central Marin Police Authority will hold a DUI and driver's license checkpoint Friday in Corte Madera. The checkpoint will take place from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on eastbound Tamalpais Drive at Lakeside Drive.
Officers will be on the lookout for drivers with signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment during the checkpoint. Police will also check for valid licensing.
"Research shows that crashes involving an impaired driver can be reduced by up to 20 percent when well-publicized DUI checkpoints and proactive DUI patrols are conducted routinely," according to Central Marin Police.
