Father’s Day is fast approaching and if you still don’t know what to get the man who has everything, how about the gift of spending time with dad?

Here’s a guide to some fun activities for some dad time in Marin County.

Father’s Day Rockin’ Tea

Who doesn’t like a tea and cake party? Teeny Cake in Novato is throwing not just any tea party, but a rockin’ tea party for dads. Reservation is required, so don’t wait until the last minute to book this for dad. The party starts at noon and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $32 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under.

Father’s Day Weekend Fishing Derby

If Dad likes to fish, why not challenge him to a fishing derby. Paradise Beach in Tuburon is hosting a Fishing Derby on Saturday. There are prizes for the biggest first, catching the first fish and catching the heaviest fish.

You don’t even need to have your own pole and bait. A limited number will be provided for beginners until supplies run out.

The Father’s Day Weekend Fishing Derby starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Father-Son BBQ

What dad does not a like a good old-fashioned BBQ. Enjoy some father-son bonding time at the Corte Madera Father-Son BBQ.

The festivities start at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. Friday at the Corte Madera Community Center. The cost $20 per person.

Tiburon Classic Car Show

The dads who are car enthusiasts, take them to the Tuburon Classic Car Show. The event is free and afterward you can enjoy a nice dinner with dad around time.

The car show starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. Saturday at Shoreline Park.

Nothern California Pirate Festival

OK, so this isn’t exactly in Marin, but who doesn’t like pirates?

Vallejo will be invaded by a legion of scurvy rats and dad will have a great time there. The Northern California Pirate Festival features sea shanties, swordplay, pirate skills demonstrations and, of course, food.

The event runs 10 a.m. 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10 and free for kids 11 and under.
