Suspect Arrested In Violent Hit And Run Accident In Corte Madera
Two police officers suffered minor injuries following a violent struggle with a DUI driver who attempted to flee a hit and run accident.
CORTE MADERA, CA — Two police officers suffered minor injuries Saturday following a violent struggle with a DUI driver who attempted to run off following a hit and run accident in Corte Madera.
A police spokesperson from the Central Marin Police Authority, which serves Corte Madera, said that the collision, between the DUI driver in a Chevrolet Camaro and a couple driving a BMW, occurred at 10:50 a.m. The DUI driver rear-ended the couple's vehicle on Fifer Avenue near Lucky Drive.
The crash left both vehicles inoperable.

The DUI driver immediately ran from the scene. After a witness called 911 with a good description of the suspect, officers found him on Lucky Drive near the Corte Madera city corporation yard.
The officers were treated at the scene. The couple in the BMW also received treatment for miniro injuries.
The Chevrolet driver was arrested for felony DUI causing injury, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest. He was booked at Marin County Jail.
