Town Center Corte Madera Hosts World's Largest Turkey for the Holiday Season
Giant Turkey will collect donations of canned food and dry goods for Marin families in need

The World’s Largest Turkey will once again roost at Town Center Corte Madera and will gratefully collect donations distributed by the SF-Marin Food Bank to Marin families in need. The Giant Turkey is currently on display and is located in the shopping center’s courtyard. This year marks the Giant Turkey’s 23rd annual appearance at Town Center. www.shoptowncenter.com
The Giant Turkey has delighted shoppers and their families every holiday season with its bobbing head and hatch for donations of canned food, non-perishable items and toiletries which will eventually be collected and distributed by the SF-Marin Food Bank. Over the years, the giant turkey has collected over 33,100 pounds of food which is equivalent to fifty thousand meals. These donations will help the Food Bank fill holiday baskets with useful items for those in need.
“We are so proud of our partnership with the SF-Marin Food Bank which helps so many families in need during the holidays and all year round,” said Monty Stephens, General Manager of the Town Center. It’s become a tradition for families who find the Giant Turkey a wonderful way to support their community.”

“It’s hard when we know the people we serve are looking at their budgets every day and asking themselves how they’re going to pay for housing, bills, and food,” says Paul Ash, executive director of the SF-Marin Food Bank. For a lot of people, the first thing to go is the food budget. That’s why the Food Bank is so important. We provide an essential service that people can count on. In turn, we count on donations to be able to continue our work.”
