Twin Cities Police Log: Feb. 2-8

Twin Cities police called to break up fights, one in connection with narcotics and a gun.

• Twin Cities Police Officers responded to Macy’s in The Village Shopping Center to assist Macy’s Loss Prevention officer, who was reporting a physical fight with five women while they were trying to arrest one of the subjects. Macy’s Loss Prevention advised one of the subjects claimed to have a gun and threatened that she was going to shoot them. The other subjects left prior to the arrival of police and a San Francisco woman was arrested for Commercial Burglary and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• Officers responded to physical fight between five juveniles at the Econo-Gas Station on Redwood Highway. A Marin City juvenile was initially detained, but then released when it was determined that no prosecution was desired. A report was taken for documentation.

• Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Monte Vista Ave. when a woman reported that her husband had thrown a telephone at her, hitting her in the shoulder, and had destroyed other items in the residence. The responsible subject had left the residence prior to the officers' arrival. A report was taken for Domestic Battery. Follow-up is pending with the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.

• The Richmond Police Department reported that they had recovered a vehicle reported as stolen to Twin Cities Police from the 5800 block of Paradise Drive on Oct. 8. There was no one in custody and the vehicle had minor stripping.

• Officers responded to the area of 5600 block of Paradise Drive on a report by a witness who had just seen a black truck hit the center median and trees on the median, but then leave the area. The caller reported that the vehicle had lost a headlamp due to the impact. Officers were able to locate the responsible vehicle in the area, but were unable to contact the driver. A report was taken for a Hit and Run accident and a follow-up is pending.

• Twin Cities Police Officers assisted the CHP with a vehicle accident that had occurred on northbound U.S. 101 that had degenerated into a “road rage” incident, as both vehicles exited the highway and were in the area of the CHP Office on San Clemente Drive.

• A Corte Madera resident reported the theft of her son’s red and white Marin brand mountain bike from Henry C. Hall Middle School where it was parked, unlocked. Value of the bicycle was undetermined.

• Twin Cities Police units responded to a report of a vehicle which had lost it brakes on Skylark Drive, then collided with a parked vehicle and was now resting in the bushes. Information was left for the owner of the parked vehicle and officers stood by while the vehicle was removed from the bushes and towed at the owner’s request.

• A resident in the 100 block of Edison Ave. reported that someone had entered her unlocked garage and stolen the Sony stereo, valued at approximately $100, from her vehicle. A residential burglary report was taken for documentation.

• A resident in the 500 block of Via Hidalgo reported that sometime during the last two weeks, her vehicle had been hit while it was parked near her residence. A witness was able to provide her with identifying information for the responsible hit and run vehicle. Follow-up is pending.

• A Groveland resident reported that he had left his Apple Mac Book Pro 15 Glossy, valued at $5,000, at the Wipeout Bar and Grill in the Bon Air Shopping Center, but did not realize it until he had arrived at home. He had contacted the business and they were unable to locate it. A report was taken for documentation.

• Officers responded to a report of a non-injury accident on the Tamalpais Drive overcrossing to U.S. 101 between a Pontiac Gran Prix and a Mitsubishi. Assistance was provided with the exchange of information.

• A resident in the 10 block of Fawn Lane reported that his tool shed was broken into and “rifled through”. Taken were at least three jackhammers and an acetylene torch set. The value of the stolen items was estimated at $3,000. A residential Burglary report was taken and further action is pending.

• A Ross resident reported that while she was putting her groceries from Trader Joe’s into her vehicle in the parking lot at the Cost Plus Plaza, a man attempted to steal one of the bags of groceries from her shopping cart, but left without doing so when she saw him.

• A resident in the 500 block of Old Quarry Road North reported that his vehicle was broken into by removing the driver’s door lock while parked in the area of his residence. Taken were a DVD player, a GPS unit, Bluetooth device and a pair of sunglasses. Total loss is approximately $1,330.

• During this one week time period, Twin Cities police had 303 calls for service. This included four property damage only accidents. There were two auto burglaries, one commercial burglary and two residential burglaries. There was one call related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest for DUI.
