WEATHER ALERT: Lots of Heavy Rain to Continue in Larkspur, Corte Madera

National Weather Service officials are predicting a wet Christmas week here in the North Bay.

Today will likely see rain in the morning, followed by rain in the afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 50s and south winds will reach 10 to 15 miles per hour, becoming southwest winds reaching around 20 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight will see rain, with heavy rain at times. Lows will be in the mid 50s and west winds will reach around 20 mph.

Tuesday will likely see showers. Highs will be in the lower 60s and west winds will reach 15 to 20 mph.

Here’s the full forecast from the National Weather Service for the Larkspur area for the next few days:

• Today: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 58. South southwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
• Tonight: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 53. West wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
• Tuesday: Showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 60. West wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Tuesday Night: A chance of showers before 4am, then a chance of rain after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. West northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Wednesday: A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly before 10am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Northwest wind around 11 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
• Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
• Thursday: Rain. High near 53. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
• Thursday Night: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Breezy.
• Christmas Day: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 54.
• Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
