Los Angeles County has the highest number of pricey zips of any county nationwide, according to new data from PropertyShark.

LOS ANGELES, CA – It's a known fact that California real estate is expensive. PropertyShark released a list Tuesday of the 100 priciest zip codes in the U.S., and a whopping 82 entries are in the Golden State.
Los Angeles County has the highest number of pricey zips of any county nationwide, with 19 of its zip codes making an appearance on the list.
But how does the City of Los Angeles compare to the rest of the country? Six zip codes are among the most expensive in the U.S.

- 90049 is ranked #30 with a median home sale price of $2,250,000
- 90077 is ranked #34 with a median home sale price of $2,175,000
- 90036 is ranked #70 with a median home sale price of $1,638,250
- 90048 and 90405 are tied at #76 with a median home sale price of $1,600,000
- 90064 is ranked #80 with a median home sale price of $1,575,000
- 90027 is ranked #81 with a median home sale price of $1,550,000

- 94027 in Atherton, CA with a median sale price of $6.7 million
- 11962 in Sagaponack, NY with a median sale price of $5.5 million
- 02199 in Boston, MA with a median sale price of $4.77 million
- 10013 in New York, NY with a median sale price of $3.81 million
- 90402 in Santa Monica, CA with a median sale price of $3.76 million
- 94301 in Palo Alto, CA with a median sale price of $3.76 million
- 94022 in Los Altos, CA with a median sale price of $3.5 million
- 94028 in Portola Valley, CA with a median sale price of $3.3 million
- 94024 in Los Altos, CA with a median sale price of $3.25 million
- 33109 in Miami Beach, FL with a median sale price of $3.25 million

PropertyShark's Methodology: To determine which were the most expensive ZIP codes in the U.S., PropertyShark looked at all residential transactions closed in 2018, taking into account condo, co-ops, single- and two-family homes. All package deals were excluded. Due to a number of ties, 117 zip codes made it into Property Shark's top 100 most expensive zip codes in 2018.
