Manson Murder House Listed: 'Truly, One Of A Kind'

Fifty years after the Manson Family broke in to commit murders that would shock the nation, the LaBianca House is listed for nearly $2M.

LOS ANGELES, CA — It's a beautiful Los Feliz house. And as the listing promises, it's made for entertaining. It has killer views, and it's "truly one of a kind." It's also home to the most notorious murders in California history.

It was the summer of love, 1969, when Charles Manson walked into the home, helped tie up grocers Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, and ordered his followers to kill them with same horrific violence of the night before when the Manson family murdered pregnant actress Sharon Tate and her friends. Young homecoming queen Leslie Van Houten helped do the deed. And 50 years later, the brutality of that night remains shocking.

Though the horrific and seemingly random murders of a beloved couple scarred Los Angeles and brought a swift end to the free-love era, no sign of that dark night remains. Gone are the ramblings like "Death to Pigs" written in blood on the walls. The Cielo Drive home of the notorious Tate murders is long gone, but the LaBianca house still stands much as it did when Manson unleashed his terror upon the city.

He said he deliberately listed the home below market value, acknowledging some buyers would be turned off by the "event that happened 50 years ago."

“We don’t want somebody to go into escrow and find out 10 days, 15 days later that there was the event that happened 50 years ago. And then they don’t want to buy it because of that,” he told the newspaper. “We just wanted people to make offers with their eyes wide open.”
