33-Year Seal Beach Police Officer Dies
Sergeant Michael Vasquez, who served the city for more than three decades, died following a stroke.

Retired Seal Beach Police Sergeant Michael Vasquez passed away May 8th, 2016 from complications he experienced as a result of a stroke. Sergeant Vasquez served the City of Seal Beach from February 1969, until his retirement in February 2003. During his career he worked assignments as a Patrol Officer, Traffic Investigator, Detective and Patrol Sergeant.
Michael was born in Casa Grande, Arizona and graduated from Eloy Union High School in 1965 and earned an AA degree from Golden West College. He was an avid golfer, a fan of WWII movies and NASCAR; his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt Sr. Michael is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane, and his children Melissa Vasquez and Tristyn Ingallinera as well grandchildren Michael and Lillian Ingallinera.

Funeral arrangements are as follows: Viewing Friday, May 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 and funeral 1:00 P.M.Saturday May 14Th at the St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church located at 6201 East Willow St., Long Beach, CA. 90815. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that well-wishers make a donation to the Stroke Supporters Association of Long Beach.
